Guy was born on March 15, 1943, in Lyster, Quebec, to Rita and Antonin Laflamme.
Later on, he started working as a lumberjack which took him to many places in Canada.
Around 1969, while he was working in Hearst, Ont., the manager of the pulp mill in Hinton, Alta., recruited him to come and work for them and train their employees.
He worked there for a few years training workers to work on skidders. After he left, he started his own company and along the way met a lot of people that, to this day, he kept in contact with because he loved his coworkers so much.
In the last years of his life, he enjoyed reminiscing with the many friends he made while doing what he loved. He also enjoyed visiting with grandkids; he loved each one of them equally. They were the sunshine in his life.
He is predeceased by his parents Rita and Antonin Laflamme; daughter Laura; brothers: Raymond (Lucille), Maurice, Gilles; and sister Collette.
He is survived by his wife and best friend Diane; his kids: Pascale (Shane Mofford), Tony (Micheline), Christine (Mike Maxon); his grandkids: Lexie (Andrew), Brett (Kayla), Kruz, Collynz, his little pest Kinzley, Kale and his brand-new granddaughter Gabrielle; great-granddaughters: Laynie and Parker; his brothers and sister: Paul, Pierre (Collette), Louise, Luc (Sylvie): as well as many nieces and nephews.
