Man presumed dead at Brazeau Dam
By Glen Mazza

RCMP advised media that a 29-year-old male is missing after falling from a guardrail at the Brazeau Reservoir which is located approximately 80 kilometres northwest of Rocky Mountain House. Police say that the search is being treated as a body recovery mission.
A call was received by authorities on Friday, Aug. 3, at about 4:30 a.m. and officers proceeded with a search with the assistance of Search and Rescue, Clearwater Regional Fire Rescue Services and provincial Conservation Enforcement.
The reservoir exists because of a hydro electric dam on the Brazeau River. RCMP say the searchers conducted an extensive search of the reservoir and the river.
As of the morning on Monday, Aug. 6, Rocky SAR president Ed van Heeren stated that his organization, along with Brazeau SAR, were asked to stand down and discontinue their efforts for now. The body has not been recovered.
