Gordon Douglas Brown
Sept. 8, 1953 – Aug. 20, 2025

Gordon Douglas Brown passed away on Aug. 20,2025 after a long battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis surrounded by his family.

Gordie came into this world on Sept. 8, 1953, in Eckville, Alta. He was the fourth, and last, boy born to Alec and Sylvia Brown. He spent most of his formative years in Rocky and graduated high school here.

Soon after Gord and Marj were married they purchased their commercial printing business from the Mazza family, and G&M Graphics was born. They proudly ran their business for 49 years.

They grew their family with two girls, Kenna and Meghan, and Gord was so proud to be their dad. He attended dance recitals, music concerts, and put up with a lot of hairspray.

When Kenna and her husband expanded their family with two boys, Jacob and Ryley, Gord was so proud and overjoyed to be their papa. He was also overjoyed to attend a few hockey games.

Gord leaves behind two brothers, Duncan (Rhonda) Brown, and Grant Brown, along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Alec and Sylvia Brown, his mother-in-law Alice Wardlaw, and his brother Robert “Bob” Brown. 

Gordie’s life will be celebrated at the Nazarene Church in Rocky Mountain House on Sept. 3, 2025, at 1 p.m.
