Neil Clayton
Charlton
Neil is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marlene; son Ken and daughter-in-law Mercy of Rocky Mountain House; his daughter Carrie and son-in -law Kurt and granddaughter Jaclyn Armbruster of Calgary; brother Skip Charlton of Victoria, British Columbia; and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Neil was predeceased by his parents Mary and Roy Charlton, his sister Eleanor and brother Dennis. Neil was born in Rocky Mountain House and spent most of his life here. He lived on a farm east of town for 17-and-a-half years, which he enjoyed very much. Neil worked at Edwards Garage for 33-and-a-half years. Neil really liked his sports, especially hockey, football and baseball. He also really enjoyed going to rodeos, camping, hiking and biking with his family. Unfortunately, he lost his mobility within the last year and a half. The family would like to thank Dr. Ludewig, the nurses and aides at Rocky Mountain House Hospital. We would like to extend a very special thank you to the Hospice Society (Clearwater Centre) and all the staff who took excellent care of Neil for the past two-and-a-half months. We all have very happy and fond memories of Neil, and he will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Compassionate Care Hospice or Stars Air Ambulance in Neil’s name. A service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, at 1 p.m. at the Church of the Nazarene, located at 5340 - 59 Ave., Rocky Mountain House, Alta. Condolences may be forwarded to www.rockyfuneralhome.ca. Rocky and Sylvan Lake Funeral Homes and Crematorium and Your Golden Rule Funeral Homes entrusted with the arrangements. |
