Muriel Alice Finkbeiner
Aug. 21, 1954 – June 6, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Muriel Alice Finkbeiner on June 6, 2025, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre.
Surrounded by loved ones, she left us peacefully to be received into the arms of Jesus. One of three siblings, she was born Aug. 21, 1954, in Eckville, Alta., to Leslie (Les) and Myrtle (Myrt) Finkbeiner and grew up in the town of Leslieville, taking her education at Leslieville Elementary School and David Thompson High School.

Muriel was blessed with two children, Paul and Lisa, and three grandchildren: Sage, Marlowe and Thomas. She worked for different departments of the Alberta Government, Town Office in Rocky Mountain House, Chamber of Commerce in Rocky Mountain House, Town Office in Eckville, Grey Wooded Forage Association and Canyon Creek Golf Course.

Muriel enjoyed playing the piano and organ and music in general. She was a member of Withrow Gospel Mission and the Central Alberta Antique and Model Club where she enjoyed participating in the Leslieville Antique Days each year, selling candy at the Leslieville Mercantile. Other sources of enjoyment were baking, sewing, her flowers and backyard birds. Though living in Leslieville, she was in the process of moving to Rocky Mountain House.

Muriel was predeceased by her parents Les and Myrt Finkbeiner, husband Steve, son Paul, grandson Sage and brother Ron. She is lovingly remembered and survived by her daughter Lisa, grandchildren Marlowe and Thomas, sister Geraldine (Gerald), sister-in law Karen, Uncle Eddie (Dorothy), Auntie Donna, nieces, nephews, great-nephews, numerous cousins and very loving friends and neighbours.

A celebration of Muriel’s life will be held at Withrow Gospel Mission on Saturday, June 21, at 1 p.m., with interment to follow at Leslieville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Withrow Gospel Mission or Leslieville Community Centre.
