Kenneth Janigo
Nov. 8, 1931 – Aug. 8, 2024

It is with great sadness our family announces the passing of Kenneth Janigo on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024, in Lacombe, Alta.

He was a devoted husband to Nita, a loving father to Linda (Barry) Tee and Rick (Carol) Janigo, and a beloved grandfather to Heather (George) Saganis, Colin (Tracy) Tee and Daniel Janigo and great-grandfather to Aiden and Ethan Saganis, and Charlie and Sawyer Tee.

He was predeceased by his father, John Janigo Sr.; his mother, Lilly Janigo; and his brother, John Janigo Jr.

Ken was born on Nov. 8, 1931, in Nordegg and filled his younger years with schooling, sports, horseback riding and outdoor activities. He also worked underground in the mine as a driver. He later joined the Alberta Forest Service, where he remained until his retirement in 1988.

In 1950 he met his wife Nita, while on a fishing trip to Goldeye Lake. On April 19, 1954, Ken and Nita were married and continued to live in Nordegg. In 1960 he transferred to Rocky Mountain House, where he remained until 2022 before moving to Lacombe.

Ken will be remembered for his kind and gentle nature, his love of life, and his generous stories and recollections of the past. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Thank you to the staff of the Lacombe Extended Care Unit for enhancing his quality of life for the final year and a special thanks to Dr. Olivier for her exceptional care.
