Linda Mockford
She was married to Don Mockford in 1966, and they spent most of their almost 59 years of married life in the Leslieville area. Linda is survived and greatly missed by her loving husband, Don; daughters: Sherry (Rob) Wysocki of Fort Saskatchewan and Loralie (Marc) Brown of Winnipeg; and five grandkids: Jessica, Vanessa, Maia, Avery, and Markus. She is also survived by three brothers, three sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. Linda loved gardening and could always be found tending to her beautiful flower beds and massive vegetable garden. She volunteered her time to help maintain flower beds at Camp Little Red in Bowden and also helped clean the kitchen building in between camp sessions. She really enjoyed her work as an office manager for Rocky Transport/Arley’s Transport/B&R Eckle’s where she was employed for almost 30 years. In retirement, she spent lots of time in her gardens, travelling, spending time with grandkids and avidly cheering on her Red Deer Rebels hockey team. She also faithfully attended and served in various capacities at Bethel Union Church for many years. Linda remained her calm, content self — right to the end, even in the midst of difficult health struggles. She is now at rest, free of pain and suffering and —WOW — what a garden she must be tending now!! A celebration of life was held at Bethel Union Church on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Iran officiating. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Linda’s name to the Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Society. Condolences may be forwarded to www.rockyfuneralhome.ca. Rocky and Sylvan Lake Funeral Homes and Crematorium, your Golden Rule Funeral Homes, entrusted with the arrangements. |
