Harold Edward Schroeder
Harold worked in the oilfield most of his life and was a “Jack of all trades” doing everything from pipelining, safety, sandblasting painting and driving pressure trucks. When he wasn’t working, he loved to spend time out in the mountains doing everything from mountain biking, hiking, camping and canoeing down the North Saskatchewan and Clearwater Rivers with his son Jordan and late brother Al. If you were ever fortunate enough to have had a meal prepared by Harold, you knew that he was an amazing cook and loved to show off his skills whenever he could. He passed this passion down to a few of his kids as well. His life was not the easiest by any means and his health was taking a toll on him in the recent years. Although he will be missed, we take comfort knowing that his suffering is over, and he is at peace now with his maker. Harold is survived by five of his six children: Jeremiah, Lydia, Karla, Jada and Jordan; sisters: Josie (Pete) Calvert and Brenda (Laurent) St. Louis; as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Myrtle, father Frederick, stepfather “Slim,” brother Albert “Al”, daughter Melissa and niece Sasha. As per his wishes only a small family gathering will take place at one of his favourite spots out west next summer. Harold would always end his phone calls with a simple yet profound “Bye for now.” So, we say “Bye for now,” to you Dad; we will see you again someday. Condolences may be forwarded to www.rockyfuneralhome.ca. Rocky and Sylvan Lake Funeral Homes and Crematorium, your Golden Rule Funeral Homes, entrusted with the arrangements. |
