Beverly Fay (Reid) Spencer
Dec. 9, 1953 – Sept. 25, 2024

It is with deep sadness that the family of Beverly Fay (Reid) Spencer announces her passing on Sept. 25, 2024, following a short and courageous battle with cancer.

Bev was born in Rocky Mountain House on Dec. 9, 1953, to John and Norma Reid. She was the youngest of three children, joining her brother John and sister Leona. Bev was raised on the family farm in the Alhambra area. She attended school in Rocky and graduated from Rocky High School. Soon after, she met her future husband, Marc, and they married in 1972. The arrival of their two children, Marc Jr., and Danielle completed their family.

Bev loved being a homemaker and also worked part time in the community over the years. In addition to her children, Bev’s pride was in her four grandchildren. She loved spending time with them as they grew up and felt proud of the good people they became. In their retirement, Marc and Bev enjoyed camping and travelling.

Bev had many hobbies including painting, gardening, fishing and darts. She joined the Rocky Legion Dart Club in the 1980s and was an active member up until this year. She sure enjoyed her many friends in the dart club. Bev also loved to play all kinds of board games and card games with family and friends. In the days before her passing, Bev continued to paint, sketch and enjoy game nights with the entire family. She enjoyed camping as long as she could and was able to have camping trips with friends and family this summer.

Bev is predeceased by her parents John and Norma Reid, sister-in-law Carmelle Spencer and her brother-in-law Duncan McKenna. She is survived by her husband of 52 years Marc; her son Marc Jr. (Jacquie); daughter Danielle Spencer (Ryan David); and four grandchildren: Cameron James (Cassidy), Cody, Daman (Kaylee) and Isabelle. She is also survived by her brother John (Donna) Reid, and sister Leona (Jim), brothers- and sisters-in-law: Paulette, Mike (Margaret), Rick (Helene), Dennis (Barb), Gerry (Mary), Danny (Georgette); and her nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held for Bev on Friday, Oct. 4, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Flinn Funeral Home in Rocky Mountain House. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Compassionate Care Hospice Society.
