“Anne” Alice Switzer
1927 – 2024

It is with sadness we announce the passing of “Anne” Alice Annie Elizabeth Switzer in Drayton Valley, Alta., on Sept. 30, 2024.

Anne was born to Catherine and Henry Dolphin in Innisfail, Alta., on Oct. 10, 1927. She was raised in the Raven, Alta., area — helping on the family farm and going to a country school in the area, either walking or going by horse in sunshine, rain or snow!

She married Norris Switzer in 1952 and lived on a farm in the Leslieville, Alta., area where they had two children, Greg and Blair.

Later, she taught in Red Deer and area as well. After retirement she spent most of her time being active and taking great pride in her lawn and flower gardens in Red Deer, Alta.
Anne is survived by her son Greg Switzer and sister Fran Cofell. She was predeceased by her parents Catherine and Henry Dolphin, husband Norris Switzer, son Blair Switzer, brothers Bud and Hugh Dolphin and sisters Margaret Savage and Mary Moore.

A funeral service for Anne will be held at the Chapel of the Rocky Funeral Home, Rocky Mountain House, Alta., on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your organization of choice.
