Milan Mike Beletic
July 2, 1949 – May 30, 2019

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mike Beletic, 69 years, of Rocky Mountain House, Alta., on May 30, 2019, after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Mike is survived by his son Robert Beletic of Edmonton, his daughter Sandra (Shane) Poitras of Beaumont, and his granddaughter Hunter-Lee; his siblings, Maria Sorgo, Remigio (Antonia) Beletic, Gverrinus (Ankica) Beletic, Mila (Idio) Ilijasic, Graciela Beletic, and Lena (Italo) Cerra; his sisters-in law, Jakonda Brundula and Genevieve Beletic; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mike will be missed by many friends and family for his genuine character.
Mike was predeceased by his parents; Eufemia and Antonio Beletic, his brothers Miro and Danilo Beletic.
Mike moved to Rocky Mountain House in 2000 to run the 30 ton crane for O & S Crane Services. He took great pride in his work and his ability as a crane operator. Mike enjoyed life to the fullest; he lived in the beauty of God’s Country and enjoyed being outdoors every chance he got. When he wasn’t working he would sneak out to go fishing, quadding, hunting or building things in his wood shop. Mike enjoyed spending time with family and friends and sharing his knowledge and experiences with those around him. One such experience is his enjoyment of cooking and having a pig on a spit. Mike was known for his pig roasts and inviting those around him to enjoy the experience with him. Later in life Mike became a Nonno to his granddaughter Hunter-Lee. When she was six weeks old Mike was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer. Hunter-Lee was his strength and his reason to fight. Mike loved showing her his enjoyments in life and being a part of her many firsts – first fishing trip, first side-by-side ride, first sled ride and first hunting trip. Over the years Mike built many items for Hunter-Lee, his favourite being a log cabin playhouse.
A celebration of Mike’s life will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Eagle Ranch at 4:30 p.m. As per true Mike tradition there will be a pig roast and potluck to celebrate Mike’s life, family and friends.
