Darlene Faye Boylan
Nov. 16, 1950 – Jan. 31, 2021
Our hearts are heavily saddened as we announce the passing of Darlene Faye Boylan on Jan. 31, 2021, at the age of 70. Darlene was born Nov. 16, 1950 in Rocky Mountain House, Alta., to parents Sally and Clayton McGrath. After the passing of her father, Clayton, her mother remarried and Darlene gained another dad, Bob Maupin. Darlene met the love of her life Ken Boylan in 1971 and married him in 1974. They resided in Rocky Mountain House where they raised a beautiful family. They were first blessed with their son Wayne, and later on, blessed with their daughter Michelle.
Darlene was a wonderful friend, loving wife and mother to her family; which soon grew, as she became an auntie of many, and a grandmother to three. She loved horseback riding, family time, dancing and the warm sunshine. Anyone who knew Darlene, knew what a ray of sunshine her soul was as she could light up every room and brighten everyone’s days.
Darlene is survived by her husband Ken Boylan, son Wayne (Stephanie) Boylan, daughter Michelle (Kelsey Rice) Boylan, and grandchildren Taylor Boylan, Dante Rice and Lexi Rice. She also leaves behind her brothers, Garry (Diana) McGrath, Russell (Cindy) McGrath, Randy (Shelly) McGrath, and Todd (Therese) Maupin as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is predeceased by her parents Sally Maupin, Clayton McGrath and Bob Maupin, uncle John Adrain, sisters Brenda McGrath and Mavis McGrath, and brothers Mike Maupin, Ronnie McGrath and Bobby McGrath. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Darlene’s name, may do so to the Veteran’s Food Bank.
