Gordon Fisher, 83, of Rocky Mountain House, Alta., passed away suddenly on Aug. 8, 2019, in Red Deer Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Gordon was the second son born west of Rocky Mountain House on the “Josh Place” on June 28, 1936, to Bill and Edna Fisher (Brierley).
He first met Laureen Polnau in 1959. They were married in Rocky Mountain House on Feb. 11, 1961.
Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 58-and-a-half years, Laureen Fisher. His children, Joanne Fisher, Lee Fisher (Michelle), Brenda Nicolay (Stan), and his grandchildren Mackenzie and Kennedy Fisher, and Cody and Nicole Nicolay.
Family, ranching, horses, volunteering, rodeo and coffee time defined his life.
Celebration of Gordon’s life will be held at the Chapel of the Rocky Funeral Home on Friday, Aug. 16, 2019, at 1 p.m. with a come and go social to follow until 4 p.m. Cremation has been entrusted to Rocky Mountain Crematorium, Rocky Mountain House, Alta.
A private family interment will be at the family plot within Garth Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in Gordon’s name to STARS Air Ambulance.
