Jacob ‘Jake’ Rylie Harden

Our beloved Jacob “Jake” Rylie Harden passed away May 8, 2019, in Calgary.
Jake was full of so much love and joy and he brightened the lives of everyone who knew him. Outwardly Jake appeared to have it all: intelligence, confidence, beautiful blue eyes, a big smile, fantastic wit, and the ability to engage and forge a relationship with anyone. Inwardly Jake was sensitive and had struggles that he hid well from his close friends and family.
Jake was an avid snowboarder and enjoyed his time in the mountains. He loved music, spending time with friends and family, and took pride in whipping up a great meal. He had a soft spot for animals and loved his pets. He loved games and liked to outbid and outwit everyone. He also had a newfound love for his own facial hair. He knew a lot about a lot; he enjoyed having knowledge and learning.
Jake will be forever cherished and missed by his many friends and family, including his loving parents, Jenny Gibson, Darvin (Barb) Harden, and his sister Megan, stepbrother Jaymes; as well as grandparents, Judy and Danny Gibson and grandmother Darlene Harden. He is also survived by aunts, Susan and Charlotte Gibson; uncles, Dion and Dean (Laurie) Harden, uncle Geoff Braun and cousins, Evan, Reese, Cash, Cohen, Destiny and Savannah.
We will always love and remember the sparkle in his eyes, the sound of his laughter and the grin that lit up our lives.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Jake on Saturday, May 18, 2019, 1 p.m. at the Leslieville Bethel Union Church. Refreshments to follow at the Leslieville Community Centre.
