Albert ‘Abe’ William Long
1927 – 2019

Abe passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on May 11, 2019, in Red Deer.
Abe is survived by his two brothers, Fred and Harold and his three sisters, Dorris, Lily and Kathleen; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Abe was born and raised on the family farm where he lived for 82 years in Buster Creek. He lived a good, simple life with his two cats that he adored.
Abe enjoyed going for walks on the farm and driving his tractor. He loved having a good hot dog cooked over the firepit. Abe started a new journey in his life in January 2009, moving into Westview Lodge and some great friendships and very good friend ‘Katie’.
Abe was loved by all. He was patient. He was a very kind, gentle-hearted man and friend.
Abe we want you to know we adored you. You will be sadly missed and you will always have a special place in our hearts. Thank you for being in our life for 14 years. Love you to the moon and back. Love always, Robbie, Kerry, Lena and Brandon.
A funeral service for Albert will be held at the Chapel of the Rocky Funeral Home on Friday, May 17, 2019, at 2 p.m. Friends and family may pay their respects prior to the service at the Chapel of the Rocky Funeral Home starting at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the Pine Grove Cemetery, Rocky Mountain House, Alta.
Memorial donations can be made in Albert’s name to the Compassionate Care Hospice Society (2016) at Box 283, Rocky Mountain House, AB T4T 1A2.
