Gene Walter Roseth
May 24, 1955 – Nov. 2, 2019

It is with sad hearts that we say goodbye to Gene Walter Roseth.
Gene was born May 24, 1955, in Rocky Mountain House to Edwin and Barbara Roseth. He was raised on the family farm in Cheddarville as the second of five children. Gene attended Caroline School and later went to SAIT to get his welding ticket. His welding career took him on many adventures around the world, including Russia and Japan where they built an oil rig. He rode on the rig across the ocean to the Beaufort Sea. There, he had to change the fans to heaters on the rig to adjust for the -60 temperatures of the Beaufort Sea. He continued welding across Alberta until this year. On his down-time he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and family.
Gene is survived by his wife Lyn; his daughters, Jamie, Jeannie “Smiley” and Deena (Mike); his sons, Wendell (Alisa) and Ian (Tara); his grandkids, Justin (Alicia), Brady, Jayson (Taylor), Jenna (Justin), Josh, Kalleigh, Joram, Liam, Cody, Kai and Levi; and two great-grandkids, Elsie and Koen. He is also survived by his siblings, Chris (Brenda), Neal (Faye), Roger (Della) and Louise (Keith); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gene was predeceased by his parents, Edwin and Barbara; and his nephew Dustin.
Services will be held at Dovercourt Hall on Friday, Nov. 8, 2019, at 1 p.m. A time of fellowship to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gene’s name to the Red Deer Cancer Centre.
