Irene Mary (Nee: Rahko) Archibald Sippola
1928 –2022

Irene was born June 1, 1928, at Rocky Mountain House, Alta. Irene went home to her final resting place on May 1, 2022.
Irene was the youngest of eight children born to Matilda and Andrew Rahko. All of her siblings: twins Sule and Ina, Nielo, Ester, Neilo “Nick”, Stainor, Terho “Ted” and Walter greeted her in heaven when she arrived. 
She attended Oras School until she graduated by riding her beloved horse Dixie for six miles. After she graduated Irene worked at the Co-op in Rocky. In 1949 she married George Archibald and they moved around Alberta before settling in Caroline in 1953, along with their two sons.  She worked in the Pioneer Store as a butcher for more than fifteen years. She was a gifted artist, painting India ink on curved glass and tinting photos.
Irene later married Alex Sippola and together they operated a successful trucking company.
She is survived by her loving sons: Dan (Lynn) Archibald and Charlie (Tanya) Archibald; her five grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
A private family celebration of Irene’s life will be held.
Memorial donations in Irene’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
