Beryl Alberta (Cole) Wickins a.k.a. Grandma B
Nov. 11, 1943 – June 17, 2018

On June 17, 2018, with family by her side, the Lord came and brought mom home to heaven. Beryl was born Nov. 11, 1943, to Donald and Helen Cole of Chedderville, Alta.
Born the third child of six children, she was raised in a God-honouring pioneer home. At a young age she accepted Jesus as her saviour and began showing His love to everyone she met. Beryl had a lifelong passion for horses, especially her bay mare, Pretty, who she worked cattle with and rode many wonderful miles. She excelled in cooking, gardening, hunting, farm work, calving, and machinery operating. On June 21, 1969, she married the love of her life Ernie Wickins. Together they built a farm and home where everyone was welcome. Her award-worthy homemade bread and chocolate cake were a treat to all. Children Connie, born in 1976, and Ronald, born in 1978, were blessed to have her for their mother.
Survived by children: Connie Wickins (Mark Loewen) and Ron Wickins (Amy); grandchildren: Mark Murphy (Danielle Trimble), Carilee Murphy (Cole Pearse) and Brighton Wickins; siblings: Winnifred Risto (Herb), Annita Cole (Allan), Donna Davies, Nadine Cusack (Kevin); sister-in-law Phyllis Auger and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by parents: Donald (1981) and Helen (1991) Cole, husband Ernie Wickins (2010) and brother Charlie Cole (2014).
An interment service was held at Prairie Creek Cemetery on Saturday, June 23, 2018, followed with a celebration of Beryl’s life being held at the Caroline Church of the Nazarene, Caroline, Alta. Family and friends then enjoyed a full weekend of fellowship at Beryl’s place.
