Debbie Baich
Mayoral Candidate

Our community is important to me. I am running for mayor because I believe our community needs a strong, local, business-minded leader.
I believe in service before self and will bring strong, ethical, honest, and open communication to our council. We all want more improved services, more businesses, more senior housing and reduction in crime.
We need lower taxes and utilities. We need to make Rocky an affordable place to live for everyone. Seniors who want to stay in their own home should have the ability to do so even on a small fixed income. Lower taxes encourage development and bring more business to town, big and small. Fair, equal taxes for multi-location/large staffed businesses, keeps jobs local, makes satellite business possible and shopping more affordable.
Relationships with Clearwater County and other community groups are important. Sharing costs and leveraging volunteer support is advantageous for all taxpayers and good for the community.
I have seen housing needs and financial stress in our community. As your mayor, you can trust the financial decisions I support will be for the benefit of everyone. I will encourage the use of trusted local business and contractors, and seek advice.
I am passionate about our community. I have been a generous supporter of community groups, sports teams and charities including the Hospital Foundation, Mountain Rose Woman’s Shelter and Compassionate Care Hospice Society. My time on the Business Revitalization Zone committee and Rocky Rotary Club saw the creation of Marketplace on Main and the Festival of Trees.
I was born and raised in Rocky. My family lives in the same neighbourhood I did as a child. I worked through university as a property manager, graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. I then worked on civil engineering projects for WNM Engineering in Red Deer. For more than 19 years I’ve owned and managed the Rocky Home Hardware Building Center. I have the experience it takes to make ideas into reality.
Your vote means lower taxes, renewed partnerships, and future possibilities.
I am dedicated to being a mayor everyone will be proud of. I have a plan; I will work for you.
Make Rocky Mountain House a Town to Invest in, a Town to Live in, not just to visit.
