Donna Lorraine
Philips
Donna was born on Sept. 6, 1952, in Rocky Mountain House to Norman (Pat) and Irene (Clemont) King. Her early years were spent on Grandma King’s farm near Strachan, and they later moved to Rocky where she attended school. It was there she met Paul Philips. Donna and Paul married June 20, 1975. They then settled in Hinton until moving back to Rocky in 1983. Donna and Paul were blessed with three children: Darla (Randy) Gagyi, Bradley Philips (Noreen) and Chyanna (Noel) Pelletier; 11 grandchildren: Ricky (Dana) Kubik, James (Melissa) Gagyi, Ashley Gagyi, Cody Philips, Cinder Philips, Andrea (Evan) Tuff, Catherine Pelletier, Paulina Pelletier, Joseph (Anah) Pelletier, Benjamin Pelletier and Rachel Pelletier; 18 great-grandchildren and one special great-grandson waiting for her in heaven. Donna owned and operated the Music Den, as well as Country at Heart crafts, worked at both the Western Star and The Mountaineer and in later years, was proudly a guard at the Rocky RCMP Detachment. Donna will be remembered for her quick wit, feisty spirit, fierce loyalty, quirky humour, coffee that was always on, a door that was always open, a never-ending soup pot and her love and devotion for her family. Donna leaves behind a beautiful legacy and is now reunited with her loving husband Paul, their great-grandson Noel Samuel, her Dad and Mom and Archie, and all the others that left before her. Through all the grief and sorrow, we will be comforted by the precious memories of her we hold in our hearts. Donna will be deeply missed and forever loved by all her knew her. A celebration of Donna’s life was held at the Dovercourt Hall on Monday, Oct. 19, 2026. Rocky and Sylvan Lake Funeral Homes and Crematorium, your Golden Rule Funeral Homes, entrusted with the arrangements. |
